Saturday 16th July- Bee & Wildflower Block Printing Workshop @ Etsy Oxford Didcot 10:30am – 1pm
During this Etsy Oxford bees and wildflower inspired Block Printing Workshop you will be taught how you can easily and effectively print your own Fabric’s and Paper’s in your chosen designs and colours. Taking many people back to the day of Potato Printing, block printing is traditionally an ancient form of fabric printing carried out in Indian that is still widely used today.
Tutor- Holly Jones is the lead Printing Tutor at The Arty Crafty Place. Previously working as Annie Sloan’s studio assistant, Holly has a very creative background. She complete an Art degree and founded her own surface pattern design business HollyB. Where she has had a Etsy shop since 2014 , and sells in the Etsy Oxford Store and has other stockists in and around Oxfordshire.
Holly has been Studio Manager at The Arty Crafty Place for 4 years , she has travelled to India several times and learnt Traditional Block Printing from the Artisans in Bagru, India. Holly’s own personal business has now moved from Screen Printing to Block Printing focusing on organic printed textiles inspired by Nature, mostly focusing on bees and wildflowers her selection of hand designed blocks will be available on the day plus one of her organic cotton blank items.
This workshop will be suitable for all abilities, there will be time to practice different techniques and build your confidence before moving onto your items.
Included in the Workshop will be a mixture of Practice Fabric, Stationery Items such as Wrapping Paper, Gift Tags, Tissue Papers & Cards along with a large Fabric item such as a Tea Towel, Tote Bag or Drawstring Bag set. Additional items will be available to purchase, along with materials to take home should you wish to carry on Block Printing. Suitable for ages 10+
